Welcome to Cloud Security Center (CSC)¶
Cloud Security Center (CSC) is a managed security service provided by InSpark that helps organizations protect their cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. CSC offers continuous monitoring, threat detection, and response capabilities to safeguard against cyber threats and ensure compliance with security regulations.
Managed Detection & Response¶
InSpark's Cloud Security Center ensures that your cloud environment is always equipped with the latest Microsoft security features for maximum protection, thus fulfilling the concept of "shared responsibility." They also activate advanced security monitoring and provide 24/7 follow-up on potential security incidents detected by security services. InSpark provides qualified personnel, so organizations don't need to establish their own Security Operations Center (SOC); they can rely on InSpark's Microsoft Security experts.
From traditional to modern Cloud Security¶
Traditional security solutions provide protection by isolating an IT environment from the outside world. However, this approach is no longer sufficient in a cloud-based world. The modern data center (Azure) and the modern workplace (Microsoft 365) are powered by the cloud, which is typically accessible over the internet. Security in these environments needs to be implemented by design, focusing on protecting identities, devices, applications, and data. In a cloud environment, it's crucial to assume that your environment will be attacked at some point ("assume breach") and be prepared to take action 24/7.
Microsoft is actively working to combat security incidents. However, one common misconception about a cloud environment is that it is always kept completely secure by the cloud provider. Microsoft refers to security in a cloud environment as a "shared responsibility," where organizations are responsible for configuring security services correctly, using them appropriately, and responding to detected threats.
Continuous Protection Against Cyber Threats¶
Furthermore, new and more advanced cyber threats emerge every day, requiring daily measures to be taken against these threats. Attackers use Artificial Intelligence to execute their attacks, and Microsoft is developing highly advanced Machine Learning models to detect and defend against these attacks. Additionally, information security regulations and laws are increasing, making it even more essential to remain compliant.
