Configure outbound private endpoints in Fabric workspace settings

Private endpoints enable secure outbound connectivity from your Fabric workspace to Azure resources. This article describes how to configure managed private endpoints in the Microsoft Fabric portal.

Prerequisites

  • You must have permission to manage network security settings in your Fabric workspace.
  • Obtain the resource ID for the target Azure resource.

Configure managed private endpoints

Follow these steps to add a managed private endpoint in your Fabric workspace:

1. Open workspace settings

  • In the Microsoft Fabric portal, navigate to your workspace.
  • Select Settings > Network security.

2. Add a managed private endpoint

  • Under Managed private endpoints, select Add private endpoint.
  • Enter the following details:
    • Managed private endpoint name: Specify a name for the connection.
    • Resource identifier: Enter the resource ID as shown in the Azure portal (for example, /subscriptions/{subscription-id}/resourceGroups/{resource-group}/providers/{resource-provider}/{resource-type}/{resource-name}).
    • Request message (optional): Add a message for the request if required.

3. Review and apply changes

  • Review your configuration.
  • Select Create or Save to apply the network security settings.

NOTE
Coordinate with your network administrator to ensure DNS and firewall rules permit traffic through the private endpoint.
